Shifu Cai Zhijian founded the Xia Xin Wushu Association of Hawaii in 2003, promoting Chinese Wushu, Taiji and Qigong, coaching many enthusiastic and loyal wushu students from all walks of life, ethnicities and ages.

Started out as an avid student of martial arts in the 1960’s, Shifu Cai studied under the guidance of grandmaster Shifu Ceng Nailiang, learning and specializing in Taijiquan (supreme ultimate fist). A follower of the Southern Shaolin Buddhist monk, he studied Wuxing Quan (five process element fist).
In 1990, he was promoted and certified as a Wushu coach, a position that enabled Shifu Cai to train the military police in Fujian Province. Under his skillful training, Shifu Cai’s students garnished 3 gold and 5 bronze medals at the Zhuhai and Guangzhou International Wushu Competition in 2001 and 2002.

Shifu Cai has a unique and deep understanding of the Taiji, Qigong and Neigong, a form of breathing, movement and awareness exercises and meditation. Shifu Cai continues to teach and train students the arts of Taiji, not only as a form of martial arts, but a form of health training.
