Victor Tan, an acupuncturist who helps run three nonprofits, including the Hawaii Asia Pacific Institute, on Wednesday donated 500 surgical masks each to The Queen's Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente. Last week Tan delivered 1,200 masks to three Qahu care homes.
Tan said more masks are on the way to the islands.
"Of course we have to do this. I love Hawaii. Over the years so many people have helped us. We have to do something for the area. It's time," he said.
